Is the recruitment process anything like Panhellenic Recruitment?
It is entirely different! We always like to say in Phi Lamb that we don't choose you, you choose us! We welcome anyone seeking this kind of Christian community with open arms. Rather than multiple "rounds" like traditional Panhellenic recruitment, we have a few events that you can choose to come to! There is usually some sort of craft or activity, and lots of snacks and goodies! It's a great way to meet the women in our chapter and also meet other women who are interested in joining Phi Lamb! We also host an "open chapter," where potential new members can see what one of our weekly chapter meetings is like!
What is the next step after recruitment?
At recruitment you will have the opportunity to sign up for "introductions" with our officer team, which usually occur in the days following our recruitment events. These are short ~15 minute meetings with our 5 officers where they will ask a few questions to get to know you a little more and ask you if you would like to join our sisterhood! After that, you're in! You will be considered a new member while you attend weekly meetings with your recruitment class and New Member Educator (NME) in addition to chapter meetings! At the end of the semester you will participate in an initiation ceremony where you will officially become an active member of TCU Phi Lamb!
Can upperclassmen join phi lamb?
Absolutely! Many women in previous year's recruitment class were upperclassmen. You will fit right in!
What do I wear to recruitment?
There is no dress code for recruitment. Come as you are! Our active members will most likely be wearing matching Phi Lamb t-shirts.
How big of a time commitment is phi lamb?
You can be involved in Phi Lamb as much or as little as you choose, but most members spend 2-4 hours a week at Phi Lamb activities. We have a points system to keep track of attendance and to maintain active status you must attend the majority of meetings and other required events, but social events are optional although highly encouraged!
Does phi lamb cost money?
New members and active members do pay dues. Right now, active members pay $220 per semester and new members pay $245 per semester, but we are more than happy to work with you if your financial situation does not allow you to pay this amount.
Can i be in a panhellenic sorority and phi lamb?
At this time, no, due to the time commitment for both organizations!
